Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a collaborative, confidential process in which a person works one-on-one with a trained therapist to explore emotions, thoughts, and behaviors, set goals, and develop coping strategies for life’s challenges. Sessions provide a safe, nonjudgmental space to gain insight into patterns that contribute to distress—such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or trauma—and to practice new skills for managing symptoms and improving functioning. The therapist uses evidence-based approaches tailored to the individual’s needs, which may include cognitive-behavioral techniques, psychodynamic exploration, mindfulness, or interpersonal work, and progress is typically reviewed and adjusted over time. Individual therapy can be short-term and solution-focused or longer-term and exploratory, depending on the person’s goals, and its effectiveness often rests on a strong therapeutic alliance and consistent engagement in the process.

Family Therapy

Family therapy is a form of psychotherapy that involves multiple family members working together with a trained clinician to identify and address patterns of interaction, communication breakdowns, and roles that contribute to conflict or emotional distress; it views problems as arising from the family system rather than solely within an individual, and uses strategies such as improving communication skills, restructuring unhelpful dynamics, setting boundaries, and developing problem-solving approaches to support healthier relationships and collective coping, often tailored to the family’s developmental stage, cultural context, and specific goals.

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy is a structured, collaborative process in which partners work with a trained therapist to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen emotional connection; it typically involves identifying negative patterns, learning practical skills such as active listening and problem-solving, exploring underlying needs and attachment styles, and setting concrete goals for change, and it can be brief and solution-focused or longer-term depending on the couple’s issues, readiness to change, and the therapist’s approach.
